The Absence

Well, as you can guess I've been a little bit busy with other things instead of blogging and taking pictures. When I'm not at work I'm searching the internet for a great apartment, things I need to get in order, ... I think you get the idea ;)

However, I'm never too busy to shop (it's actually very easy when you work in a clothing store). Over the past few weeks I've bought some great pieces at Promod (where I work). Not everything is in the pictures, I decided to take some detailshots of my favorite pieces.

In My Dreams (And On The Wishlist)

When you ask me about my favorite designer, I can tell you without a doubt that Maison Martin Margiela is my number 1. I'm a fan for years now.

Unfortunately I don't own a lot of MMM pieces, one pair of shoes to be correct (see here), because my I-just-got-a-job paycheck doesn't really cover such expenses. So donations or the winning numbers for next week lottery jackpot are always welcome ;)

The newest objects of my Maison Martin Margiela obsession are these gorgeous peep-toe ankle boots. I'm telling you guys, it was love at first sight! I prefer the brown ones, but the red and beige ones are perfect aswell.

Jojo - A Different Shoe

Today I want to tell you guys a little bit more about Jojo, a Belgian shoe project started by Matthieu Vaxelaire and Christoph Nagel. I'm a real shoe freak and talking about beautiful shoes is what I love doing. However, I'm also very concerned about the environment. Well, Jojo is a combination of beautiful shoes and doing good for the environment, so that's definitely something I want to talk about.

It all started in 2009, when the 2 friends (totally different, but complementary) decided to launch a project that paid respect to the environment. It took them less than a month to create Jojo! Joachim de Callataÿ, the designer of the shoe, got completely hooked on the idea of combining fashion and ecology in one item. Meeting him turned out to be very important for the future of Jojo.

I hear you thinking, how does this work? Well, it's very easy :)

Step 1: You choose the model of shoes you'd like to have. There are 3 different models to choose from: basic (the must-have), plain (the chic ones) and pop (the funkiest). The shoes made of natural cotton are manufactured in China and produced in circumstances that have respect for the people and the environment.

Step 2: You decide which project you want to support. You have the choice between Tree-nation (1 pair of jojo's = 1 tree planted in Africa) and The Water Project (1 pair of jojo's = 1 year of clean drinking water for 1 person in Africa). The back of each pair of shoes gets branded with the project you chose, so you really become part of a movement.

Step 3: You can follow the progress of the project you chose. Such a great option. Because how many times did you already support a good cause and never got to see the results?

Say Hello...

... to my new shoes!

If you read my report about the Steve Madden store opening in Antwerp you might remember that I got a coupon for a free pair of shoes. Since I was in Antwerp last saturday for the blogger meeting, I decided to get the pair I spotted the moment I entered the shop on thursday. Curious to see them?

Even though I already knew which pair I would get, I still doubted for a moment. There are so many beautiful shoes in the shop, so a girl can get confused :) 

In the end I decided to go for this pair of black ankle boots (my first thought). They're very comfortable and easy to wear with a lot of different outfits. I guess these will show up on my blog regularly.

Steve Madden Store Opening - Antwerp

Yesterday I attended the opening of the first Steve Madden store in Europe, located at Meir 17 in Antwerp. I was so looking forward to this event and it was even better than I thought it would be.

The shop is beautifully decorated with natural materials and of course filled with the most gorgeous shoes, I didn't know where to look first. 

We got spoiled with delicious cocktails and snacks and we spotted a lot of celebrities (always fun to do). It was fun to meet up with other bloggers and finally meet some people I hadn't met before.

I saved the best for last. Because we all received a bright pink envelope with a coupon for a free pair of Steve Madden shoes. I really couldn't believe it at first! To be continued ;)

The Steve Madden shop is offially open since today and it's a must on every shoppingtrip in Antwerp. There will also be a webshop opening very soon.

New Look Store Opening - Brussels

Last tuesday I was invited to attend the opening of the new New Look flagship store in Brussels. The shop is situated at the Nieuwstraat 39, so you can't miss it on your next shopping trip.

We got spoiled with delicious candy, drinks, french fries, a 50% discount on everything, ... It was super crowded, so the evening was a bit hectic, but nonetheless I had a great time.

I guess we all know New Look as shoe heaven, so I couldn't resist trying on several shoes. I ended up buying 2 pairs. I was/am on a no-buy, but I just couldn't resist these beauties at a 50% discount (oh the excuses)! I still think I didn't do too bad, I could have gone totally crazy and buy all the clothes I liked (which would have ended with an empty bank account and needing several people to carry my bags). 

Thanks to New Look and Tam-Dem for inviting me to this great event! I had a lovely evening!

New Boots

Back in january I already showed you guys a pair of brown boots very similar to these. I finally took some pictures of my black pair to show here.

These are from New Look and the tip is a bit wider than on the brown boots. At first I really had to get used to that, because I have small feet. But these boots and I already had some fun times out together. 

I already own so many pairs of shoes, but I really needed a pair of black boots that are easy to walk in (excuses, excuses!). These are really comfortable and so I gave myself permission to buy them.

I ♥ Buying New Things

Last tuesday I went shopping in Brussels. Those who follow me on twitter already read that I've had a good day and I came home with a few great buys. Funny, last week I was claiming that I hardly find great things during the sales period and now things have totally changed. 

Oh and please forgive me for the pictures that don't look too good. I've been trying to make pictures all day, but I just don't seem to have any luck today!

This loose dark blue t-shirt is from COS. Sometimes I want to buy everything at COS and sometimes I just leave the store disappointed. I was lukcy this time and found 2 pieces, both at 70% off!

I think this piece is great for summer, since it's so loose. I fell in love with the shoulder details.

This black longsleeved blouse is the second piece I bought at COS. I've been on a search for a dress/blouse with sleeves like this for a long time now. But the pieces I've tried before really didn't suit me and weren't as soft as this one.

I promise I'll show these 2 pieces in an outfitshot, since the pictures don't do them justice.

I finally bought myself a satchel bag! I've been wanting one for so so so long and I've finally found my match. It was available in black and brown. I choose the black one, because I simply have too many brown bags already. But I think I might end up getting the brown one aswell, since it was so cheap at New Look.

And last but not least, meet my new pair of boots I got at New Look. I was too late to buy the ones with the fur collar, but these are even better (since they have no fur and are suitable for more occasions).

Oh and I also ordered a similar pair in black. I'll show them on the blog when my sister gives them to me. Shoe-aholic, me?!

Oh Boy!

I took lots of study breaks today, simply because being sick and studying literature isn't such a great combination. Lying on my couch and looking at all the beautiful pieces on sale at the net-a-porter online shop was a better thing to do.

When I stumbled upon these Isabel Marant Amely Suede & Leather Ankle Boots my heart skipped a beat. These are gorgeous (and 50% off). Too bad my size isn't avaible anymore...
