Label. #2/11

My dear readers, I'm writing this post to let you guys know that the new Label. is available in stores right now.

This year's second edition of one of my favorite magazines is a can't miss. I read it entirely yesterday while I was enjoying the sun and an ice-tea on a sunny terrace.

New brands, fashion for kids, a very interesting file about denim (a must-read is the interview with Filip  De Brabander, Belgium's deniminsider), more information about 2nd Day (the new and edgier line by Day Birger et Mikkelsen, I really want those black sequined pants) and much more is ready for you to read. And like always the sneakerlover in me get's the upperhand when I see all the great shoes in Label., those white Supra sneakers are on the wishlist from now on.

I would like to end this article with a shoutout to (blogging)friend Kim, who wrote a fantastic article about blogging for this Label. edition. Keep up the good work girl!

ELLE Belgique

The new ELLE Belgique is in stores right now. 

This march edition is a fashion special commented by 20 Belgian bloggers. How nice is it that one of the biggest magazines in the country thinks of bloggers to write some comments for their magazine?

I was very happy when I received an e-mail asking if I was willing to share my ideas on a few articles. Not only is this a great opportunity to maybe get my blog more readers, but by reading this month's edition I also got to know lots of other great blogs. I really loved reading how everybody commented in their own style on several topics.

Designers Against Aids

Designers Against Aids (DAA) is a Belgian non-profit organisation which started 10 years ago.

The main objective of Designers Against Aids is to raise awareness and to get the subject of HIV/AIDS back into the media all over the world, as lately it has become a forgotten disease, especially in the western world. 'Prevention is the only cure for HIV/AIDS' (protect yourself and your partner) and 'Know your status' (get tested) are their most important messages. Designers Against Aids also fights for the acceptance of and equal rights for seropositive people.

Designers Against Aids (born in Belgium, but active all over the world) wants to reach young people by using their favorite celebrities from music, fashion, sports and art to raise their interest. The most important tool for DAA is their website www.designersagainstaids.com, where we can learn more about the disease and read about other AIDS organisations. This way visitors can learn how to protect themselves or help others who are less fortunate.

This picture is the cover of Designers Against Aids latest project. This book (Designers Against Aids: The First Decade) is a collection of more then a hundred amazing pictures. A look at the past: 10 years of initiatives and campaigns, highlighting the most beautiful and significant moments and the inspiring story of founder Ninette Murk. In addition Peter Piot, former president of UNAIDS and philosopher/writer Alain de Botton contributed to this book. The cover is a photograph by Erwin Olaf.

The proceeds of this book all go to the international HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Center (IHAEC), located in Antwerp, where students from all over the world will receive education on how to set up succesfull HIV prevention and awareness programs.

The book costs 29,90 euros and is available on the DAA-website or on amazon.com and in several bookstores.

I guess we all know the Fashion Against Aids collections by H&M. Designers Against Aids started this collaboration in 2008 and it was an instant succes. 25% of the sales prices of each garnment is directly donated to HIV/AIDS awareness projects.

I myself am a huge fan of these collaborations and can't think of a better way to spread the message amongst people. I already showed my FAA buys on this blog, check: here & here.

This condom pouch is the newest result of another great collaboration. This time Designers Against Aids choose Delvaux as their partner. This pouch is a great Valentine's Day gift or just to spoil yourself.

Keep in mind that this is a real collectors item, since there are only 18 pieces available. Of course the proceeds will be donated to Designers Against Aids.

Label.

For lots of people the beginning of a new year means a new start and that's not different for Label.

From now on there will only be one magazine every 3 months, since Label. Profashionals and Label. Fashion Focus merged together in 2011. This means that the magazine got a new lay-out, a new cover (Love it) and of course a brand new website (click click). 

Label. keeps you updated about all things fashion and shows us inspirational photoshoots. Which isn't that different from the Label. Fashion Focus we used to know.

This first and brand new issue of Label. introduces us with several brands that are worth checking out, takes us behind the scenes at Freitag and joys us with an article about Petit Bateau (Love this brand!). Steve Madden, sneakers, kids fashion and even crocs are featured in this issue. I absolutely loved the 'Into the wild' photoshoot, such great photography. The trend file about heritage takes us on a trip around the world and back into the past. And the trade file holds useful information for the fashion professional.

Where to buy Label.?

Label.Fashion Focus

Look what the mailman had with him for me today! Almost a month too late, the new Label.Fashion Focus. Anyway, I'm glad that I finally have it!

You guys already know I'm not a big fan of this cold weather and the snow. So I stayed at home and read my magazine from cover to cover today with a warm cup of tea to keep me company.

Yet another edition that's great to read. As a shoe-addict I was eager to read the article about Fred de la Bretoniere. Caution: you might end up wanting some new shoes very very much! 

The Levi's Curve ID, sneakercollabs, colors and Lacoste got some attention in this edition aswell. The opening of the WeSC shop in Antwerp is featured too and I'm going to Antwerp soon to check it out. 

Moms and dads should really buy this edition, LFF shows some great brands for your children. Who doens't want their kid to be the most fashionable in town?

Thanks to Label.Fashion Focus I discovered some great new brands to follow: Billy and I, Won Hundred and Caye. And last but not least a great and inspiring fashionshoot on a rooftop in Antwerp!

Flair

Today is the day that I got published in a magazine! What an honour!

A while ago I got contacted by Elise who works for Flair magazine in Belgium. She asked me if I was interested in being published in an article about Belgian bloggers. Of course I said yes.

The photoshoot was about 3 weeks ago and I was rather nervous (I've had never done anything like this before). But I had a great time. Everybody was so friendly, I got to wear beautiful clothes (I ♥ my shoes) and my hair and make-up looked perfect. The picture turned out so beautiful, I love it!

So a very very very big thank you to everyone at Flair for making this happen!

Paris!

I really wish I could go back to Paris! The boyfriend and I had a wonderful time there, as usual when we are in Paris. This time it was a short trip, we only had 3 days there, but we still managed to see a lot of the city and do some shopping.

What's a trip to Paris without some delicious macarons from Ladurée?! I really wanted a box, because I can use it to store jewelry. Some memories of Paris in my bedroom, lovely!

"Lunchbreak" in a park near the Champs-Elysées. I wish all my lunches were this delicious :)

I bought this macarons cookbook at the Virgin store, can't wait to try these recepies out! I'm really curious if I can make them as good as in France. I'll keep you guys updated!

A pair of floral short from Oysho! I'm really upset that we don't have this shop in Belgium, because they have the most beautiful pieces of clothing/pyjamas. I'm a fan of Oysho since my last trip to Budapest.

I read that there was a Couleur Caramel store in paris, so I just had to go and check it out. Like I said before: I only buy products that aren't tested on animals and that are as good for the environment as possible. I bought myself some new foundation, I'll review this one in another post.

I can't leave Paris without a beautiful vintage card like this one. I bring one home everytime. My collection is getting so big and I'm loving it!

Aren't these birdies the cutest? Well, meet my new pillowcase from Habitat. It was just to funny to resist and I bought a matching penbox. Actually my boyfriend bought these 2 for me, isn't he the sweetest?!

Label. Fashion Focus

You guys better run to your nearest magazine store because the new Label. Fashion Focus is in town and it's great! I read it cover to cover last sunday, while enjoying the sun.

This issue introduces us to some great new labels (Super sunglasses, music & fashion by April 77, handmade fashion by Sandra Backlund, ...), a great fashionspread and lots of gorgeous sneakers (would love to get my hands on the Jeremy Scott Adidas shoes with wings!).

What I like the most is that Label takes us behind the scenes of fashion with an article about 'Closed' and interviews with the people behind the labels 'Essentiel' and 'Le Fabuleux Marcel De Bruxelles'.

My favorite article in this issue is the one about fashion and dance. Which of course is about shoes :), to be exact Bloch and Repetto(!!!!) shoes.

I wish I could write about all the great articles in this magazine, but I want you guys to still have something to read when you buy it :)
