Review: Rituals Sakura Scrub

Washing away impurities is good for body and mind. In the traditional Japanese bathhouses an intense bodyscrub is an important part of the purification ritual. Rituals got inspired by this old practice while creating the Sakura Body Scrub. The unique combination of Organic Sugar and soothing oils makes your skin sheeny new and incredibly soft.
Well, if a discription like this doens't make you curious to try this body scrub, I'm sure the frangrance will do the trick.
I already mentioned before that I like scrubs that are a bit firmer, I like to feel that I'm scrubbing. So I was curious to try this one. This scrub is a sugar scrub and they tend to be a little to soft for me, but I'm pretty satisfied with the Sakura Scrub. I can feel the scrub particles do the job and my skin feels very soft afterwards. My skin doesn't even feel that dry in comparison to when I scrub myself with other scrubs, but I still used some bodylotion afterwards (old habbits...).
This scrub smells like heaven in jar to me. I'm a fan of cherry blossom frangrances, so I just had to buy this one. When I'm using this scrub the entire bathroom smells so good and afterwards I can still smell the scrub on my skin. You can also buy the Magic Touch Body Lotion, to get full benefit of this great perfume (already on my wishlist).

Did you already try this scrub? What's your favorite body scrub?

Imelda

Less Is More

The Less Is More story began in 2005 when Hannes Trummer opened his own hair salon in the centre of Vienna. He opted to run his salon by the 'less is more' rule, because the client and his needs are the most important. The salon's architecture and layout complete this idea. The client and her reflection serve as the only decoration.
The idea to expand this concept to beauty products was born when Hannes met Doris Brandhuber (a chemist). They started their own research and came to the conclusion that, if they wanted honest and healty hair cosmetics to maintain the Less Is More standard, the best idea was to create their own products.
They set up their first research facility in the Less Is More salon itself and the result is a great line of hair and body products.
"The innovative formulas exclusively contain natural ingredients, chosen for their effectivity, purity and optimal tolerance by both skin and the environement: obtained from renewable sources, and from certified organic growers wherever possible, they are quickly and completely biodegradable. The targeted use of the purest essential oils optimizes the product's effectiveness and refines its ability to create wellness and pleasure. Highest effectivity, respect for the environment and the user's well-being are as much the essential requirements as the result of every Less Is More organic haircare product."
Less Is More only uses 100% certified organic products and all products are free from synthetic preservatives, fragrances, parabens, PEG & PPG, petrochemicals, ... Less Is More is against animal testing.
I received some products to test and review myself. So you can expect several Less Is More product reviews on this blog in the next couple of months. Do notice that it can take a while untill my reviews will be online, I want to write correct reviews and that can only happen after a long time of testing.
I can only hope I made you guys curious to find out more about these green products and if you can't wait untill my reviews are online the website and webshop are at your service.

My New Ring

If you guys remember my X-Mas wishlist, you'll probably also remember that there was a ring on the list. Too bad I couldn't get the ring I wanted, because I was right in between 2 sizes.
So I went on a ring search and stumbled upon the Double Spike Through Finger ring from ASOS. And I fell in love! This ring is perfect for me, I love things a little out of the ordinary.
Funny, how something you're really not happy about makes you end up with an even prettier ring.

The boyfriend deserves all the credit, because he got it for me as a late christmas gift. Isn't he the greatest?
Do you guys like my new ring?

Respect The Parrot

Hugo Boss and it's Boss Orange line are partnering with the World Parrot Trust to protect endangered parrot species in Latin and South-America. News like this always makes me happy, it's good to know that famous fashion brands do care about our world's biodiversity.
An international design contest was organised through facebook. The goal was to design a t-shirt inspired by a parrot tee from the Hugo Boss spring-summer 2010 collection. The winning design, by Esteban Lalama, is now available as part of the Boss Orange spring-summer 2011 collection.
Hugo Boss will be donating 50.000€ of the proceeds from the sale of this gorgeous t-shirt to help safe parrots and their habitats around the world. With this sponsorship the World Parrot Trust is launching 2 new projects to restore the Scarlet Macaw to areas of its former range in Central America. And they're deepening their commitment to safeguard the survival of the Blue-throated Macaw in Bolivia.
I can only hope that more brands set up a campaign like this one! I don't want to go all emo in this post, but it's true that we're destroying this beautiful planet and all efforts to safeguard it deserve a lot of attention. So let's all run to the nearest Hugo Boss store and buy a beautiful t-shirt so that the parrots can fly into the future!
I hope I made you guys curious to know more about this campaign. If you want to read more about it, here's the link to the website: click click.

GSUS

The Dutch fashion brand gsus is already on the market since 1993. In no time the brand became a well known name in the Dutch fashion industry. All gsus designs are reconigzable by certain characteristics: strong graphics, fresh colors and original designs. It's fashion with an edge!
In this post I'm showing my favorite looks from the new collection. Hope you like them!

The great news is that gsus has it's own shop at Maasmechelen Village until the end of April. So if you want to shop pieces from the previous collection with a discount from 30% to 60%, you know where to go! Have fun shopping!

Thomas Sabo Beauté

When I hear the name Thomas Sabo I immediately think of jewelry (charm bracelets, to be more specific).  What surprised me is the news that Thomas Sabo also took some steps on the beauty market. Inspired by his Charm Club collection "luck, fashion, love & passion" are the characteristics that can be found in his beauty products.
The Charm Rose perfume, on the market since 2010, is a refreshing and stimulating mixture of floral, fruity and eastern fragrances. It comes in a sophisticated bottle decorated with a little charm, a great way of connecting the perfume with Thomas Sabo jewelry.
The Charm Rose Lip Gloss Balm is a must have for all beautyaddicts. This fresh balm that hydrates your lips is gently perfumated with the Charm Rose frangrance. It's the perfect shade of pink if you ask me!
The newest addtions to charm up your bathroom are the foaming showergel and the silky soft bodylotion. Both come in black and white packaging, the trademark of the Thomas Sabo beauty products.

Doesn't this sound great? I'm most curious about the Charm Rose Lip Gloss, although the perfume sounds great to me aswell. The black and white packaging is something different, but that makes the products stand out.
What's your opinion about these products? Did you already try any of these?
Love,
Imelda

All products are available on www.thomassabo.com and in Thomas Sabo shops
Perfume (50ml): 49€
Lip Gloss: 15€
Showergel: 19,95€
Body Lotion: 24,95€

Casual

Since I don't have that much time today, I thought it would be fun to show you guys another collage made by me on Polyvore. It's been a while since I played around with these collages, so I forgot how much fun it was.
I wish that I owned all these pieces, because they're fabulous! I think it would be hard for me to not wear this outfit everyday!
Would you wear a similar outfit? Do you like Polyvore?

Comma: Spring-Summer 2011

I'm so longing for summer, I guess we all do!
I think the German brand Comma thought it would be funny to make us long for warm weather even more. Their newest (and very beautiful) campaign, shot in Dubai, has that perfect summer feeling to it. Makes you want to pack your bags and leave for a warm destination. Preferably wearing some beautiful Comma outfits.
I'm showing my favorite outfits in this post, but there's more beautiful pictures to admire on the Comma website.

Review: Greenland

Since I made the decision to only buy beauty products that are as natural as possible and that aren't tested on animals, I'm on a constant search for great brands who share this vision. One of those brands is Greenland
Greenland is a company based in the Netherlands, founded in 1990. It's totally dedicated to developing bath and body care products based on natural ingredients. The brand has developed into a well known and innovative brand of body care products with it's main speciality being the collections based on 100% natural raw materials.
Greenland sells 6 different lines of products: Pure & White, Less=More, Balm and Butter, Milky, Fruit Emotions and Fruit Extracts. Just click on the lines you want to know more about and you'll be redirected to the webpage with more information.
I tested 2 products from the Pure & White line, the Bulgarian Rose & Patchouli Body Scrub and Body Lotion. Don't you just love the artwork on the bottles? They just look so good in my bathroom.
All Pure & White products are organic (ECOCERT) and contain nothing but vegetable-based substances. No mineral oils, artificial colorants or synthetic frangrances, but wellchosen ingredients extracted from plants that are cultivated naturally, without the use of pesticides or chemical furtilizers. They contain great organic ingredients, such as: Aloe Vera, Glycerine, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil and Vitamin E.
The Bulgarian Rose & Patchouli Body Scrub contains Jojoba Kernels and Aloe Vera. The bottle has an easy dispensing system (so a plus for hygiene). The scrub itself is a yellowish sheer substance, which gets a little foamy once you start scrubbing. I smell a little hint of rose & patchouli, not too much because it's a natural product. In my opinion this is a great scrub. I love scrubs where I can really feel the scrub particles, just gives me the idea that I'm actually using a scrub. Afterwards my skin feels soft, clean and gently perfumed.
The Bulgarian Rose & Patchouli Body Lotion contains all 5 organic ingredients mentioned above. It's a simple white substance (just like many other body lotions) and this bottle also comes with an easy dispensing system. The lotion is hydrating, is easy to rub in, absorbs quickly and makes my skin very soft. The body lotion is more perfumed than the body scrub, which is good because of course you want to smell the lotion you put on. It's a delicate mix of bulgarian rose en patchouli, I think everybody will like this fragrance. I smelled so good the entire day and even in the evening I still smelled the body lotion.
Swatches
The Body Scrub on the left and the Body Lotion on the right.

In the end I'm very pleased with these products and I'll be using Greenland products regularly from now on. I already have a huge wishlist!
All Greenland products are available in their webshop, where you can also read reviews from other customers. With every order you receive a free sachet with a great Greenland product to test.

Did you guys already try something from Greenland? What are your opinions about this brand?

Imelda

Francis Ferent Blogger's Night

Yesterday evening a whole group of Belgian bloggers (including myself) were invited to go to the  Francis Ferent Blogger's Night at the Avenue Louise in Brussels. Francis Ferent sells Prada, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, ... So no need to tell you guys I was pleased to be invited to check out their summer 2011 collection.
When I arrived, together with Kim, we got the chance to look around in the store. We met up with Afrodite and Stéphanie and enjoyed some drinks and snacks while talking about our passion for fashion and blogging.
At around 8 o'clock there was a fashion show where the buyers shared their vision about the different silhouettes they created. We were free to ask as much questions as we liked.
After that it got even more interesting, because we got the opportunity to style ourselfs (or somebody else) with all the clothes, accessories, shoes, ... available in the shop. I ended up wearing a pink Miu Miu dress, blue Stella McCartney shoes and a brown Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch. Although only in the fitting rooms, because I felt that the Miu Miu dress didn't do me justice (so no pictures of that).

The Prada shoes we all fell in love with!

All the bloggers together!
I had so much fun meeting up with the other bloggers and I saw some great stylish outfits being put together. It was another great night out, so a huge thank you to the Francis Ferent team and Bureau Löffler for inviting me to yesterday's event!
Love,
Imelda
