My Make-up Story

It's been a long time since I got tagged, so I was happy to find out that Eva from Eva's Beautyblog tagged me! So let's start reading and learn a little more about me.

1. How old were you when you started wearing make-up?
Goh, not an easy one to begin with.
I guess I was about 14 years old. I remember getting ready for a schoolparty with my 2 best friends and putting on eyeliner and mascara.

2. How did you get into wearing make-up?
It started with my mom her make-up products. When I got a little older I always bought the cheapest make-up I could find, again together with my best friends.
But it's only been for 4 years that I'm very much into make-up, before it was more an exception for me to wear make-up.

3. What are some of your favorite brands?
M.A.C, Rituals and Nvey Eco

4. What does make-up mean to you?
So many different things. You can use make-up to look natural (but with just that little thing extra) or when you really don't feel good about yourself a touch of make-up makes that feeling go away.
It's fun to experiment with, ...

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Foundation, mattifying powder, mascara and lipgloss

6. What is your favorite thing about make-up?
That it makes you look better, even a little touch of mascara makes a difference.

7. What do you think about drugstore make-up vs high end make-up?
Well, for me the price doesn't really matter (of course there are limits). If I see something I like and it's a brand that follows my philosophy (check here for info) I buy it, if I have the money.

8. What is one tip of advise you can give to a beginner?
Keep experimenting and trying different things, so you can find out what you like the most and what suits you best. And if you need a little help, well, the internet is a great place to find inspiration and tips.

9. What is one make-up trend you never understood?
I can only pick one?!
I never understood people who like walking around with an orange face. Do they really think the wrong foundation color makes them look natural and healty? And it's even worse when you see where they stopped using the product.

10. What do you think about the beauty community on Youtube?
It's so easy when you have a question or don't really know how to do something in a good way. It's been a great help for me in many situations.

I'm tagging everybody who reads this post and feels like answering these questions. Let me know if you place this on your blog, I'm really curious to read your answers.
Love, Imelda

  1. Ooooh, I have to agree about the orange face people - it's not very becoming. They tend to look like Oompah-Loompahs from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (even more so if they have green hair :) )
