M.A.C Viva Glam

For the second year in a row Lady Gaga is the face of the Viva Glam collection by M.A.C. Since the M.A.C aids fund's inception in 1994, every cent from a Viva Glam Lipstick or Lipglass purchased has been donated to the M.A.C aids fund (read more).
The colors from the Viva Glam Gaga 2 collection are great. The lipstick is light warm beige and the lipglass is a light neutral pink beiged color. I fell in love with both colors and I'll buy them as soon as they're available in march. This is a win-win situation, I end up with 2 beautiful products and I support the M.A.C aids fund!

What do you guys think of these colors? Did you already buy something from the previous Viva Glam collection?

Filippa K Store Opening - Leuven

Yesterday evening I attented the opening of the new Filippa K store at Leuven. The store is located in a beautiful building on the corner of the Brusselsestraat and de Grote Markt (in the centre of Leuven).
Both men and women can shop here, since the shop carries both collections. The shop is decorated according to the new Filippa K store concept (Scandinavian simplicity, quality and style). In the future all existing Filippa K shops will be adjusted to this concept. And I can only applaud that, because the shop in Leuven looks great.

I also took a whole bunch of pictures, here's a little selection. Hope you enjoy watching them.

I fell in love with this pink dress, perfect for summer!

I had a great night out. There was a dj playing music, we got spoiled with snacks and drinks, the clothes are beautiful (my wishlist just keeps on getting bigger) and at the end of the evening we got a great goodiebag.
It was so much fun to finally meet some bloggers in real life, so a huge thank you to UPR for inviting me to this lovely event.

Gucci: Spring-Summer 2011

I have to be honest with you guys, I've never thought I'd make a post dedicated to Gucci. I'm simply not a big Gucci fan.
Anyhow, I just had to share these colorblock looks that are part of the ready-to-wear spring-summer 2011 collection. Maybe it's the lack of sunshine or warm weather, but these make me so happy. And I'm really loving the golden details.
I'm so going to buy some bright colored pieces to spice up my wardrobe for this spring.

What do you guys think? See anything you like?
Love,
Imelda

ELLE Belgique

The new ELLE Belgique is in stores right now.
This march edition is a fashion special commented by 20 Belgian bloggers. How nice is it that one of the biggest magazines in the country thinks of bloggers to write some comments for their magazine?
By clicking on this link you can read an article on the ELLE website about this special edtion.
I was very happy when I received an e-mail asking if I was willing to share my ideas on a few articles. Not only is this a great opportunity to maybe get my blog more readers, but by reading this month's edition I also got to know lots of other great blogs. I really loved reading how everybody commented in their own style on several topics.
Here I am!
I want to shout out a big thank you to the team of ELLE Belgique for paying so much attention to the bloggers out there. Not only in this month's edition, but also on a weekly basis.
Some of you maybe already noticed this new feature in my sidebar. Every week ELLE Belgique makes a list of Belgian bloggers and what they wrote about. So if you want to discover great Belgian blogs, just click on this picture in the sidebar and you'll be redirected to the newest list.

New Boots

Back in january I already showed you guys a pair of brown boots very similar to these. I finally took some pictures of my black pair to show here.
These are from New Look and the tip is a bit wider than on the brown boots. At first I really had to get used to that, because I have small feet. But these boots and I already had some fun times out together.
I already own so many pairs of shoes, but I really needed a pair of black boots that are easy to walk in (excuses, excuses!). These are really comfortable and so I gave myself permission to buy them.
Do you guys like these boots?

Love

When the boyfriend and I were in Maastricht he surprised me with a little gift. I'm such a lucky girl, my boyfriend is the sweetest in the world.
We were checking out the home decorations at De Bijenkorf and we stumbled into a Valentine's Day display. Of course I took a quick look and found this cute tray with cats on it. I love goodies like this, a bit kitsch, funny, sweet, pretty and not too serious.
My boyfriend was so sweet to buy it for me, because he knows I'm a cat lover. The sentence is very sweet and so true!
Of course I'm very happy with this gift, so I just had to show it to you guys!

Select by Threadless: Spring-Summer 2011

In november I already wrote a post about Threadless. A lovely company that sells great t-shirts and sweaters. I'm very happy with my t-shirt, the quality is great and I still love the design. So I was pleased to hear that Threadless had launched their spring-summer 2011 collection. Of course I was curious to check out the new designs.
As it turns out the new collection is great, just like I expected! I picked out my favorites to show on my blog. Be sure to check out the website for even more beauties.

This sweater would be great for my boyfriend!

What do you guys think of the new Select by Threadless collection?

Sisley

I have to admit that I've actually never heard of this brand before. Their latest campaign (with great photos) made me very curious to find out more about Sisley. And I must say, I see lots of things I like.
This jumpsuit is my favorite piece from the spring-summer 2011 collection. This is one for my wantlist!
Did you already know Sisley? What do you think of the new campaign?

Testing 1, 2, Lush

That I'm a beauty addict is no secret, but did you already know that I'm thinking of going to rehab? To make sure that doesn't happen I decided to stop buying beautyproducts untill my stash has an acceptable size again. Don't worry, I still have lots of stuff to review and I even have some new products to show you guys. So there's still a place for beauty on this blog.
Today I'll be reviewing 2 Lush products that I've recently tested: American Cream Conditioner and Dream Cream Body Cream.
American Cream Conditioner: "A fruity and creamy conditioner, that makes your hair soft. The scent of honey, vanilla, strawberries and orange is very sexy and sweet. If your hair gets a bit messed up, American Cream makes it easy to brush through and smooth out again. Fresh strawberries are rich in vitamin C and have cleansing properties. Vanilla helps skin and hair to retain moisture."
I think I'm in love. The smell of this conditioner is heavenly, I just can't stop smelling my hair after I use this. This conditioner does exactly what Lush promises, my hair feels soft and is easy to comb through. I'm buying myself a big bottle (of course, after I've used up all my other conditioners).

Dream Cream Body Cream: "Incredibly soothing body lotion for troubled skin. Dream Cream is Lush's best-selling product because it makes sore skin feel good again. Chamomile and lavender calm irritations, reduce redness and banich blotches. Oat milk, which has traditionally been used on troubled skin for centuries, calms the skin. Rose and lavender essential oils are calming for irritated, suffering skin. Dream Cream contains everything nature makes for soothing your skin."
I was very curious to try this body cream. The cream itself is rather thick and takes a while to absorb, I don't really mind that. My skin's very hydrated and soft, so the Dream Cream does what he's supposed to do. But I'm a little bit disappointed, because the frangrance isn't really my cup of tea. I smell lavender (which I really like) mixed with a herbal scent (which I'm not so fond of). I wouldn't buy this cream, because I'm very sensitive when it comes to frangrances. If you like the smell of this cream I really don't see why you wouldn't buy it.

Do you guys use any of these products?

Imelda

Saturday

Last saturday we finally had our familydinner to celebrate the new year. I know it's a bit late, but we're all very busy people and this was the first day we all had the time to come together.
We went to dinner in a lovely restaurant. The food was great and of course we had lots of fun. Afterwards we went to our grandparents' house and we exchanged our gifts. I really love evenings like this.
I promised in one of my last posts that I'm going to make more time for taking outfitshots. Et voila, this is the second time I'm posting an outfit in one week. Hope you like it.
Dress: Zara
Cardigan: Anni Rolfi
Clutch: Vintage
Boots: Maison Martin Margiela

Love these boots so much!

The Body Shop VIP-Night

Wednesday evening the boyfriend and I went to The Body Shop VIP-Night. I always love it when stores I visit regularly have these events. It's a nice gesture for all the customers.
Everything in the shop was 10% off, there were drinks and snacks and with every purchase you received a goodie bag. You could also get a makeover, a great opportunity if you don't really know which make up looks good on you or if you want to try something new.
If you have the chance to go to one of these VIP-Nights I would really advise you to go.
I bought myself the Vitamin E Moisture Serum and I'm really curious test and try this one. I've already tried it on my hand and that gave me high expectations. Of course this product will be reviewed on my blog as soon as I have my opinion ready.
The heart soap is a Valentine's Day gift from The Body Shop to their customers. It's offered when you buy something. I must say I love it! It smells so delicious.
Of course I was very curious to see what was in my goodie bag (I don't know anybody who wouldn't be). It contained the Love Etc. mini shower gel, body lotion and body butter.
I have all these and the perfume in the big version, so I was very pleased with these minis. I really like this fragrance. A quick discription of this fragrance:
Notes of pear, neroli, bergamot- combine to create the fragrant top notes. Provide the initial scent of the  fragrance.
Notes of jasmine, heliotrope, lily of the valley- combine to create the middle notes that vibrate across the fragrance. These are the heart notes of this fragrance.
Notes of vanilla, sandalwood, creamy musk- combine to create the base notes of this fragrance. These tend to linger on the skin longer than the other notes.
I didn't buy this Love Etc. Solid Perfum, but it sure is on my wishlist. I think solid perfumes are easy to take with you in your handbag, so you can smell good the entire day (and not carry around a heavy/big perfume bottle).
When I think of it, this would also make a great gift for someone you love. For Valentine's Day or just for any other occasion.

It's Perfect

Look at this gorgeous yellow dress from H&M's summer collection. This is just perfect for next summer!
I'm usually not a big fan of yellow clothing, but for this one I'm willing to make an exception ;)
I really hope I'll find it in stores.

Do you guys like this dress?

Designers Against Aids

Designers Against Aids (DAA) is a Belgian non-profit organisation which started 10 years ago.
The main objective of Designers Against Aids is to raise awareness and to get the subject of HIV/AIDS back into the media all over the world, as lately it has become a forgotten disease, especially in the western world. 'Prevention is the only cure for HIV/AIDS' (protect yourself and your partner) and 'Know your status' (get tested) are their most important messages. Designers Against Aids also fights for the acceptance of and equal rights for seropositive people.

Designers Against Aids (born in Belgium, but active all over the world) wants to reach young people by using their favorite celebrities from music, fashion, sports and art to raise their interest. The most important tool for DAA is their website www.designersagainstaids.com, where we can learn more about the disease and read about other AIDS organisations. This way visitors can learn how to protect themselves or help others who are less fortunate.
This picture is the cover of Designers Against Aids latest project. This book (Designers Against Aids: The First Decade) is a collection of more then a hundred amazing pictures. A look at the past: 10 years of initiatives and campaigns, highlighting the most beautiful and significant moments and the inspiring story of founder Ninette Murk. In addition Peter Piot, former president of UNAIDS and philosopher/writer Alain de Botton contributed to this book. The cover is a photograph by Erwin Olaf.
The proceeds of this book all go to the international HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Center (IHAEC), located in Antwerp, where students from all over the world will receive education on how to set up succesfull HIV prevention and awareness programs.
The book costs 29,90 euros and is available on the DAA-website or on amazon.com and in several bookstores.
I guess we all know the Fashion Against Aids collections by H&M. Designers Against Aids started this collaboration in 2008 and it was an instant succes. 25% of the sales prices of each garnment is directly donated to HIV/AIDS awareness projects.
I myself am a huge fan of these collaborations and can't think of a better way to spread the message amongst people. I already showed my FAA buys on this blog, check: here & here.

This condom pouch is the newest result of another great collaboration. This time Designers Against Aids choose Delvaux as their partner. This pouch is a great Valentine's Day gift or just to spoil yourself.
Keep in mind that this is a real collectors item, since there are only 18 pieces available. Of course the proceeds will be donated to Designers Against Aids.
Available in the Delvaux-webshop and DAA-website. Price: 138 euros.

What do you guys think about this great organisation? Did you already buy something to support Designers Against Aids?
Love,
Imelda
