Jojo - A Different Shoe

Today I want to tell you guys a little bit more about Jojo, a Belgian shoe project started by Matthieu Vaxelaire and Christoph Nagel. I'm a real shoe freak and talking about beautiful shoes is what I love doing. However, I'm also very concerned about the environment. Well, Jojo is a combination of beautiful shoes and doing good for the environment, so that's definitely something I want to talk about.
It all started in 2009, when the 2 friends (totally different, but complementary) decided to launch a project that paid respect to the environment. It took them less than a month to create Jojo! Joachim de Callataÿ, the designer of the shoe, got completely hooked on the idea of combining fashion and ecology in one item. Meeting him turned out to be very important for the future of Jojo.

I hear you thinking, how does this work? Well, it's very easy :)
Step 1: You choose the model of shoes you'd like to have. There are 3 different models to choose from: basic (the must-have), plain (the chic ones) and pop (the funkiest). The shoes made of natural cotton are manufactured in China and produced in circumstances that have respect for the people and the environment.
Step 2: You decide which project you want to support. You have the choice between Tree-nation (1 pair of jojo's = 1 tree planted in Africa) and The Water Project (1 pair of jojo's = 1 year of clean drinking water for 1 person in Africa). The back of each pair of shoes gets branded with the project you chose, so you really become part of a movement.
Step 3: You can follow the progress of the project you chose. Such a great option. Because how many times did you already support a good cause and never got to see the results?

Here a glimpse of the collection. Don't you just love these? I really can't pick which color and model I like the most. For a complete look of the collection, please visit the Jojo-website.
All shoes are available in the webshop.

Did you already know about this brand? What are your favorites?

Imelda

Event: Tiany Kirilove By Vero Moda

Last thursday the headquarters of Bestseller in Antwerp were the place to be. Press and bloggers were invited there for the presentation of the Tiany Kirilove by Vero Moda collection.

Tiany Kiriloff is the leading lady of fashion in Belgium, we can al agree on that, so the Danish brand Vero Moda couldn't have picked a better guestdesigner. I mean, if you hear the words limited edition collection, Tiany Kiriloff and Vero Moda in one sentence you can be sure it's Fashion with capital F.
The collection got presented to us by a proud and emotional Tiany and we (of course) were very excited to see the result of a year of hard work. After the first glimpse we all agreed that this collection is a winner.

After the presentation, with a lot of thank yous in both ways, we got the opportunity to feel and try the collection ourselfs. We had to write down our top 3 and that turned out to be much more difficult than I thought it would. I ended up writing down the knitted cardigan, the bright pink blazer and the orange shirt.
We also got spoiled with lots of delicious sweets. Why can't I have a buffet like this one at home everyday? ;)
The collection will be available in Vero Moda shops from the beginning of september and in a selection of multi-brand stores. You'll read all about it here when the time has come.
What are your first opinions about this collection? And what is your top 3?

Imelda

Imelda's Inspiration Pt.8

Today I would like to share some pictures that really have a romantic feeling to them. Lately I'm really into this kind of pictures. Maybe it's because I've been very tired the past few weeks and these pictures make me feel so calm, happy and homy.
So let's all have a romantic friday and enjoy looking at these photos.

Have a lovely weekend!

Finally I Take You Out

Last sunday we had a family barbeque at my grandparents' place. I really love moments like this, being together with the complete family and doing nothing except having fun and enjoying a good meal.
I decided it was time to wear the other Fashion Against Aids pants that I've bought almost a year ago. It's funny because I liked these more than the orange pants, but I never wore them before. I really feel like I have to make up for the time we didn't spend together!
 Bolero: Mango
T-shirt: H&M (too bad it's a bit see through)
Purse: Mango (Gift from the boyfriend)
Pants: H&M Fashion Against Aids
Shoes: Zara

What do you guys think of this outfit? And what were your plans for the weekend?
Love,
Imelda

Spring Outfit

From time to time I really like playing around on Polyvore. It's such a great website. I love the fact that my online wardrobe is so big and filled with things I could never own in real life!
A while ago I made this look and entered a contest with it. Too bad I didn't win the contest, but I still really like this outfit. Perfect for a day of shopping!
Summer Outfit
I really want all the clothes and accessories in this collage. What do you guys think?

Review: Less Is More Shampoo & Conditioner

A while ago I wrote a little article about the Less Is More products I received and after a long time of testing it's time for my first review.
The shampoo and conditioner I tried are part of the Gloss line, intented for all hairtypes.
The shampoo contains Evening Primrose Oil and Virgin Coconut Oil to nourish your hair and make it supersoft. Pure Cajeput Oil is added to this formula to strengthen your hair. It's a very mild shampoo (you can use it everyday if you like) and it really does what is promised. The frangrance is a little hard to discribe for me, it's a little bit pharmaceutical, very clean and fresh.
I always use the shampoo in combination with the conditioner (glossing treatment). It contains the same Evening Primrose oil and Virgin Coconut oil as the shampoo to moisture the hair and keep it from drying out. If you leave the conditioner in a little bit longer it has the same effect as a mask, so no need to buy an extra product. My hair is easy to comb through afterwards and it's not as frizzy as usual. The conditioner smells a little like orangettes, but that's because of the Oil of Sicilian Sweet Oranges that's in the product.
After using these products for quite some time my hair looks very healthy and shiny. It hasn't looked so good in ages and it feels so soft, I mean it.
The bottles are easy to use and because of the cap you never use too much of the product at once. And last but not least, they look good in my bathroom (looks are very important, even for shampoo bottles).
The shampoo on the left and the conditioner on the right.

Both products are 25 euros for a bottle of 200ml and they are available in the Less Is More webshop.
I really hope I made you guys curious about these products!
Love,
Imelda

Imelda's Inspiration Pt.7

I have so many inspirational pictures on my laptop, but when I'm composing these articles the words don't always come to mind. So for today I'll just let the pictures do most of the talking.
This Dolce & Gabbana Fur Print Skirt has been on my wishlist ever since the first time I saw it. Isn't this a beautiful piece?
I simply love this picture! This one is also hanging in my living room, in a nice golden frame of course :)
Emmanuelle Alt has such an amazing style! I just had to share a picture of her, because she's a great source of inspiration for me.
It's no secret to you guys that I love macaroons, but these are the cutest ones I've ever seen. Hooray for cheeseburger macaroons!
Lately I love to wear my hair in a high bun. I should really try this look with bows and matching nailpolish.

Have a great weekend!
Love,
Imelda

Hoegaarden & Art

Last sunday the boyfriend and I went on a little trip to Hoegaarden, a Belgian town very well know for it's beer. We didn't go for the beer, we went for some art instead.
A friend from work is an artist and she helped organize Sousvoir. Various artists displayed their work in several buildings and places all over the town. We went to check out her work and I really loved it. I also fell for the charm in Hoegaarden, I never thought it would be such a beautiful place. All those beautiful old buildings, love it!
Jacket: H&M (Gift from the boyfriend)
Scarf: Promod
T-shirt: H&M
Skirt: Lux at Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Vintage
Bag: Invito
Necklace: New Yorker
Ring: ASOS (Gift from the boyfriend)

I'm not so very pleased with these pictures, I look very tired and weird. But I do like the surrounding and the outfit, except for the skirt (it has totally lost it's shape, I really have to throw it away).
Do you guys like this look?
Love,
Imelda

Press Days @ Antwerp

A month after the press days at Brussels it was time to visit the press days at Antwerp. I only visited 3 pr-agencies, because I had to work untill 2 o'clock. Again I saw some serious wish-list material (well, that's no surprise) and I'll share my absolute favorites in this post.

I met up with Stéphanie, Kim, Hanne & Astrid (my company in Brussels aswell) at my first stop Oona. Or should I say ExpOona? They did a great job creating a fun atmosphere by making the showroom look like a museum.
 Forever 21.
Can't wait for the shops in Antwerp en Brussels to open!
Essentiel shoes that I really really really need!
 Essentiel
 WOLF. By Sophie Claes

Our next stop was the Pravda showroom, located in a beautiful loft-style building (I really want a house like that). I was excited to see what Steve Madden had designed for the comming season and I discovered some great new brands.
 Steve Madden
Flamingo's and ruffles at Edith&Ella, love it!
 Annelies Timmermans

My last stop of the day was UPR (thanks to Kim for giving me a lift). I was most curious to see if L'Occitane En Provence and Rituals had some new things. Next to these 2 favorite brands, I also found some other great pieces that I simply must have!
A new line by L'Occitane En Provence.
Can't wait to try it out!
 Swatch
I love the matte finish!
 Kipling
 Hugo Boss
Veritas

I hope you enjoyed these faves and that you're looking forward to the next season as much as I do.

Imelda

Imelda's Inspiration Pt.6

Well, it's friday again and that means that I get to share some more things that I like, love, want and that inspire me.
To be honest, I wish I was able to post 5 of my own pictures here every week. Unfortunately that isn't possible, but I'm really trying to keep these posts as personal as possible. I love writing these posts and search the internet etc. for inspirational photos, so I really hope you guys like reading them.
This outfit is amazing. It really was love at first sight, I need that cardigan and a jumpsuit similar to this one (too bad I don't have the legs to pull of this look).
I'm a person who spends a lot of time with the decoration of my home and I love cosiness. This bed isn't mine, but I sure wouldn't mind if it was. Isn't it funny how simple things like christmaslights make a huge difference?
This picture doesn't require a lot of words, I'm sure you guys will love these outfits as much as I do.
A while ago I received these limited edition Coca-Cola Light bottles designed by Karl Lagerfeld and I love them. I'm sad that the everyday bottles aren't this cute and fashionable.
These will be available in Belgium from May 28th at Inno and in June you can buy them at Kreatos and at Ladies@TheMovies.
I thought it would be fun to share a music-video that I really like in these posts from time to time. I'm a huge fan of Gotan Project, I can listen to their music for hours. I picked this video, not only because of the beautiful song, but because I love to see people dance the tango. What do you guys think of this song and movie?

I wish you all a very nice weekend.
Love,
Imelda
